1. Oven method

  • Spread nuts in a single layer on a baking tray
  • Use moderate heat — around 150–160 °C
  • Check every 3–4 minutes; nuts continue cooking after removal

2. What to avoid

High heat and long times push oils toward bitterness. Macadamias especially can scorch quickly because of their fat content.
