Large, spicy or very sugary late meals can interfere with comfort at night. A small nut portion satisfies hunger without the volume of a full second dinner.

1. Timing and portion

Try a small handful an hour before bed if dinner was early. Eat slowly rather than from the bag while scrolling.

2. What to skip late at night

Heavily salted or chilli-coated mixes can leave you thirsty. Plain or gently seasoned cashews and macadamias are the safer default.
